Gameweek 16 FPL Help: Aguero Injury and Suspension Crisis

Saturday of Gameweek 15 has been problematic for most FPL managers and for the unlucky few it has been downright traumatic.  As a result we thought it was pertinent to act quickly and try and assess the situation as speed could be of the essence in preventing the trauma from seeping in to gameweek 16.  The knee injury picked up by Sergio Aguero against Everton and the red cards picked up by Charlie Austin and Callum Chambers will still feel like an open wound before Sunday’s games have even started.  Add to that a misfiring Chelsea who failed to win in the North East for the second time in a week and one of the lowest scoring days of the season and for some managers the wound will be gaping and feel like someone has stuck their finger in it, given it a good poke and then spat in it for good measure… sound gruesome?  Well you get the picture!

Two of my fellow managers in my mini-league of 11 have this issue – and almost all of them have the problem of Chambers and Aguero so if you find yourself with a selection crisis ahead of gameweek 16 then we will attempt to dress that wound for you now and as the week progresses through the comments box below.

If these FPL Gameweek 16 tips alone are not enough to make you feel better then why not grab this 15 year old Single Malt Dalwhinnie Whiskey at 35% off the RRP – if you don’t use it on the gaping wound it might make you feel better after drinking it (over 18’s only – please drink responsibly).

How long will Sergio Aguero be injured for?

This is the question of the day as far as Fantasy Football managers are concerned.  The injury was serious enough to bring Aguero to tears and he was grimacing as he limped away from the stadium.  The early reports from Man City are that it will be 2-3 days before a full diagnosis is possible following scans to his knee.  This is not good news.  The injury appeared to be caused by a stretch, rather than it being an impact injury – again, not good news.

Although the Fantasy Premier League website have given him an initial 75% chance of playing next week we think this is generous and is more of a standard early response.

Manuelle Pellegrini has come and said that the injury is knee ligament damage and that he definitely won’t play against Roma in midweek.

We cannot (as of Saturday evening) give you an accurate predicted recovery time but rather think it safe to say that it will an injury beyond gameweek 16.

Crazy early reports of six months for Aguero… Not confirmed yet so don’t panic early adopters

chop chambers?? He will come back after NW at RB. Debuchy is still out for a while

Personally I’d still chop, if you got him at bargain price then may be worth keeping as squad player

Still no official news on Aguero, however sources in Argentina are saying he has told friends he is out for a month. That could be 7 Premier league games! Watch this space, but the continued silence does not bode well.
