Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 34 Tips

Following a fairly predictable GW33 we look forward to gameweek 34 with our early Fantasy Premier League tips for GW34. The form teams of Manchester United and Crystal Palace came to and end with good performances from Chelsea and West Bromwich Albion and we saw Aguero predictably continue his goal scoring form and Harry Kane’s name return to the score sheet.

There is one key theme that you should be looking at for this week and it is the double game week potential for Liverpool, Chelsea, Hull City and Leicester City. Hopefully, you have prepared your team to take advantage of this potential points haulage but the question is –

Who to pick for gameweek 34 to take advantage of the double gameweek

Chelsea: Arsena (a) and Leicester (a)

Arguably, Chelsea have the toughest fixtures with away trips to Arsenal and Leicester City who have now won 3 on the bounce. Although Chelsea also have the most to play for with the possibility that they could seal the Premier League title with two victories this week.

Eden Hazard is the form player for Chelsea and he simply has to be in your team this week. You most likely already have him in your team and he will be a popular captain pick for gameweek 34, but if for some reason you don’t have the top FPL points scorer in your team – get him in as a matter of priority!

Elsewhere in the Chelsea team it could pay to side with Loic Remy if you like a risk, however he has now failed to return to fitness for the last two weeks so it is unlikely he will feature in both of these games. I would prefer to look at the Chelsea defence as they will take similar tactics to the Emirates and the 1-0 scoreline has become fashionable again for the boys in blue. Azpilicueta is the best option in terms of price and chance of playing at £6.1m. It is likely that Zouma will play against Arsenal again but he may not make the Leicester game too.

Liverpool: WBA (a) and Hull City (a)

Like Chelsea, the boys from Merseyside have two away games although the fixtures perhaps represent a slightly easier task. Having lost the FA Cup semi final to Aston Villa, Liverpool now have nothing to play for but league position and Brendon Rodgers will want 6 points from these two fixtures to put maximum pressure on Man City for fourth place.

WBA put in a much improved performance against Crystal Palace and Hull did not feature in GW33 having lost 2-0 to Southampton last time out. These represent very winnable fixtures for Liverpool and the key men for me in these two fixtures are Raheem Sterling who has continued to play as the focal point of attack and Jordan Henderson who seems to become more impressive with each game that passes. Check out the history of both players and it easy to see why they should be in your team with 8 and 7 points in the last game for Sterling and Henderson respectively. If you have to pick one then I would be looking at Henderson as he is the cheaper option at just £6.7m and he is a set piece and penalty taker. Henderson may be a contentious early contender for the captain’s armband for your Fantasy Premier League team but it is one that I really like – just think of the differential potential!!!

Hull City: Crystal Palace (a) and Liverpool (h)

I have Alex Bruce in my FPL side as he cost me just £3.9m and this is about all that I can think to recommend a Hull City player. They are in free fall and I cannot see them picking up a single point from these two games. Avoid and don’t be drawn in to Hull City players.

Leicester City: Burnley (a) and Chelsea (h)

Three weeks ago I would have applied the same comments about Hull to the Leciester City side who looked all but relegated. With three wins in three however, they have pulled away from the bottom of the table and the Burnley game in particular is a real 6 pointer in the race for survival.

Jamie Vardy and Leonardo Ulloa represent the best recent form and if you wanted a Leicester player the these two are the best options in terms of points tally and potential in the two upcoming games. The Burnley game is real good opportunity and the Chelsea game is a bonus – don’t expect Chelsea to be quite so solid here as they will unleash their attacking prowess in a bid to outscore their East Midlands opponents.

Gameweek 34 Summary:

The chances are that you only have one free transfer this week as you shaped your team last week to avoid non-players. With that in mind, GW34 could be a week to take minus points with an extra transfer.

My top two transfers for FPL gameweek 34 are:

Jordan Henderson – Assists, penalties, bonus points and clean sheet points are very possible this week.

Eden Hazard – Assists, penatlies, bonus points, goals, clean sheets again are very possible this week.

We will be back later this week with our captain picks and a look at the rest of the fixtures – however, if you are already pondering the GW34 captain choice then this is how I see it – if you are a league chaser then go for Henderson for differential potential, if you are a league leader then go for Hazard as the chances are that most others will go for him.

What are people thinking with Remy definitely being out of the Arsenal game? Surely he has to be changed for another player – if you have the transfers maybe a single gameweek striker and and another Chelsea mid?
