Fantasy Premier League Tips – Gameweek 36

It is with a hint of sadness that I find myself writing Gameweek 36 tips as I am still unsure of what I will do to fill the void left by the lack of Fantasy Premier League this summer, although with 3 weeks to go of the EPL season I intend to enjoy each weekend of action as much as possible.

Those of you who followed my Christian Benteke tip last week were richly rewarded for the risk as the Belgian forward notched two goals and all three bonus points in an entertaining home game against Everton. Let’s hope we can continue to provide you with some tips of similar quality this week.

With Chelsea securing the Premier League title and with a tricky home fixture against Liverpool it is difficult to predict the starting lineup – will Jose Mourinho rest his star players such as Hazard, Fabregas and co or will he give his players the chance to play the free flowing football we saw at the start of the season? I will be sitting on the side of caution with this one and will be looking for teams who have it all still to do – such as Manchester City, Leicester, Arsenal and Aston Villa who all have pretty decent looking home fixtures this week.

Gameweek 36 Key Players:

Sergio Aguero and David Silva – Man City Vs. QPR

QPR are all but relegated and that fate will most likely be sealed with this away trip to last seasons Champions who will be hurting following a poor run of form and seeing their title head south to the capital. There is likely to be a major overhaul in terms of the Man City squad this summer, but two players who City need to keep hold of are the pairing of Sergio Aguero and David Silva. The two creative front players have had a good season (we would expect nothing less) and they have the ability to tear QPR to pieces and I expect a big performance this week. Aguero will be a popular Gameweek 36 captain choice and that is the only downside, however he has massive potential to score this week and he is in good goal scoring form right now.

Marc Albrighton - Leicester City Vs. Southampton

Leicester face a tough assignment here but their recent form gives them a great opportunity to secure 3 points and bag a couple more goals. Southampton currently lie in 7th position in the Premier League and cannot finish worse than 8th which is a phenomenal achievement for Ronal Koeman and his team. They can secure a 6th place finish which would bring with it European football, but they do not have the same level of incentive to win as Leicester and their form is not as good.

Albrighton has done little all season and has now amassed 21 points in 2 games – possibly worth a punt until the end of the season at just £4.2m! Don’t forget, Leicester have decent games in GW37 and GW38 with Sunderland and QPR to come so it could be a nice little FPL money saver.

Alexis Sanchez - Arsenal Vs. Swansea

Another big performance from Sanchez against Hull takes his goal tally to 24 (in all comps) for the season and even Arsene Wenger has come out and said he didn’t expect that sort of goal return from the former Barcelona man in his first season. He has looked a different class this season for the most part and he was involved in everything in GW35.

Swansea are playing well at the moment too and this will be a good open game between two teams who adopt a good pass and move style of football. Hopefully, this will result in goals – certainly for Arsenal, who will be looking to push for that second place in the Premier League standings.

Christian Benteke – Aston Villa Vs. West Ham

There is only one man to tip for Aston Villa and that is Christian Benteke. Tim Sherwood has produced miracles at Villa Park over recent weeks and really showed what a poor job Lambert was doing prior to his dismissal! West Ham have absolutely nothing to play for and will just be making up the numbers here and I predict a good win for Villa by at least 2 goals – hopefully with Benteke providing at least one of them. He is back to his best and is finding himself in the right place at the right time – and like Sherwood says, there is no real secret to it – you just need to feed him and he will score!

That wraps up my early take on gameweek 36 – check our captain picks for GW36 here.
