Fantasy Premier League – Week 34 Tips
Fantasy Premier League - Week 34 Tips
A complicated fixture list this weekend with 4 postponed games, some of which are directly rescheduled for mid-week and some of which aren't. In order to provide some nice structure to our dear readers, this article will focus on the six games taking place over the weekend itself. We'll follow that up with another article focusing on the five games coming up on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week.
5 Players You Need This Week
Lukaku can't get 13 points every week, but he still managed to chip in with a goal and 6 points last week, the kind of performance that's become almost automatic for him. West Ham away is not the easiest fixture, but it's not the hardest either, and you'd fancy him to have a solid chance of scoring. As we've mentioned, the biggest issue with Romelu is that with almost 5o% selection you're as likely to be playing against him as not. He should still be in your side this week.
The Bournemouth star deserves more mentioned on our site, but the ubiquity of talented players can make that difficult sometimes. This week the lack of fixtures allowed us to give him his deserved mention. Although his point tally can be up and down (3-7-9-2) there's enough positives to make him a nailed on starter this week. He's scored a remarkable 9 goals in his last 10 games from midfield, and his value makes him an obvious starting midfielder.
Zlatan was a massive let down for anyone that had him in their lineup and didn't notice he'd been rested in time. This late (and effective) change from Mourinho certainly caught many FPL managers by surprise. It's obviously no surprise that his 8 minute bench cameo provided 0 points, leaving those that played him as captain devastated. This week, however, he looks certain to be back in the starting lineup and we cannot discount the fact he had 19 points in 2 games before his rest. An away game at Burnley makes him an obvious FPL starter.
Despite racking up more points, more consistently than Coutinho, he's remained much less selected to our surprise. Firmino has put together three consistent 5 point games in weeks 30, 31 and 32 before following it up with an excellent game (including a goal) against West Brom in week 33. For us he's the most likely to guarantee you the 5 points you'll need for his price, while having the upside potential of a double digit week.
We're a bit proud to have tipped up Jagielka before he started exploding. Last week we said once more that we fancied him to get a goal from defence and he went and did it for the 3rd week in a row. Incredibly this £4.8 defender has provided 34 points through his last three games and with a game against West Ham approaching we see no need to change our faith in him now.
