FPL Game Week 4 Tips - Chelsea and Bournemouth

Sponsored by Premier Punt

Yesterday we looked at the Liverpool and Man City fixtures to gleam some game week 4 tips from. Today we will be looking at Chelsea’s home fixture against Crystal Palace along with one other fixture that we have high hopes of goals in.

Before we get started, why not check out our game week 4 tips podcast below or subscribe to our Fantasy Premier League YouTube channel.

Game Week 4 should signal some sort of parity being restored in terms of points totals between the cheaper and more expensive players with 3 home games that could prove game changers in FPL.

Man City Vs. Watford

Liverpool Vs. West Ham

Chelsea Vs. Crystal Palace

In addition to these we also think that the other key game will be between Bournemouth and Leicester.

Chelsea Vs. Crystal Palace

Chelsea have looked far from solid at the back so far this season with 2 red cards from 3 games and a total of 7 goals conceded in that time. Whilst this is uncharacteristically Chelsea-like, we have seen enough quality going forward to have faith in a few Chelsea goals being scored against a team managed by the man that many Palace fans call Pardinho (for his Brazilian attacking style with little regard for defence) and for this reason we can see a Chelsea win with both teams to score.

Pedro looked a class act on his debut and there is nothing to suggest that he won’t give us another masterclass here, but the real threat has to be Diego Costa who looked menacing at West Brom and turned up with a well taken goal and a welcome assist. Pedro stole the headlines, but we expect Costa to have the consistency as the season progresses.

One word on Pedro, his price will be going up as over 300,000 managers have already transferred him in to their teams, BUT… his price won’t rise until around 2am Sunday morning at least – all new players are locked in for 7 days so theoretically you could bring him in after the Palace game without the risk of him getting injured (in a match at least).

Having said this, our top picks for this game are Pedro and Costa – so if you get him in without a points hit then he is a great option… perhaps at the expense of Eden Hazard who has had a very quiet start to the season.

Bournemouth Vs. Leicester

Both of these teams will be thinking they can take all 3 points from this game and if we had to put our money on either then we would probably go for Leicester given the start they have made. But Bournemouth have been no pushovers either – unlucky not to at least get a point at Liverpool and with a good away win last week at West Ham and a Calum Wilson hat-trick it is easy to see why so many managers have gone for him.

For Leicester, we simply cannot ignore Mahrez any longer and with his price already having risen to £6m if you do ignore him for much longer then you will be kicking yourself. Both of these teams have good fixtures over the next 3 game weeks with Bournemouth having the slightly easier ones. Our top tip for this week is to drop the striker in your team that is underperforming – especially if you have Wayne Rooney like we did in our podcast team. Bring in Wilson and then look to bring in Pedro or Coutinho next week.

Whatever you do – make sure you have at least one of these players in your team as we have to act on form, but we like to act on fixtures also – here – we have both!

Im thinking of playing 5 at the back this week 😐
    Myhill (McCarthy)
    Dier, Azpili, Kolarov, Naughton, Darmian
    Silva, Marhez, Ozil, Shaqiri (Redmond)
    Aguero (C) (Gomis, Kone)

    What do you guys think?

I think your team is decent, but I’m not too sure about starting Darmian. Swansea is one of the in form teams and they play at home, do you think ManU can keep a clean sheet? Its your call really but personally, I’m playing Gomis and benching Darmian.

I was considering that… but watching United tonight, even if no clean sheet… Im sure he will get an assist somewhere. Thinking of maybe Gomis for a midfielder… but whom is the question… Dier is also a swap as Spurs not too strong at the back at the moment, but he is playing in the midfield now so now I’m stuck lol

My team is too concentrated on 3 teams, there’s no adequate spread amongst the teams:
    Butland (Ruddy)
    Kompany, Clyne, Gomez (Ward, Darmian)
    Silva, Depay, Ayew, Mahrez (Westwood)
    Aguero (c), Gomis, Benteke
    That’s my team going into GW4 🙂

Hey Brandon, thanks for following our site. I would keep Darmian as a starter, you can’t go against 4 clean sheets out of 5 games – Man Utd have been poor going forward (until CL) but have been solid at the back. Personally, I’d go with the 4 at the back and drop Naughton or Dier to the bench.

Hi MIlls. Thsnk you for the reply. Who would you pick out of Naughton or Dier… I would lean towards Naughton, and then do I fill his spot with Redmond who is on a streak

I’d probably sooner go with Naughton this week given the lack of goals scored in the league by Utd. It’s 50-50 really.
