FPL Gameweek 17 Captain Pick

Fantasy Premier League Captain Pick Gameweek 17:

If you are struggling to make that Gameweek 17 Captain choice then you are in the right place.  With some difficult fixtures this week many FPL managers will be justifiably finding the captain pick a difficult task so we have shortlisted our top GW17 Captain picks for you.

Christian Eriksen – Spurs vs. Burnley

Eriksen came bang back to form against Swansea last week with a 13 point haul and impressed again in midweek when Spurs ran out 4-0 winners over Newcastle.  We tipped Eriksen in our Gameweek 17 Tips Article as a good transfer option this week and with Spurs finding some form now could be the time to really put your faith in the influential playmaker.

Burnley will be no pushovers and are certainly no Premier League whipping boys but an assist and a goal would be no big surprise.

Captain pick rating: 7/10

Robin Van Persie – Aston Villa vs. Man Utd

RVP, like all strikers is judged by the goals he scores and the critics are suddenly laying on the plaudits for a striker who has scored 24 FPL points and 3 goals in his last two games.  If you are one of the 7% of managers who opted for the United forward then he is an excellent option for captain this week.  The Red Devils will be firing on all cylinders against a Villa side who will be happy to soak up pressure.  With Man Utd’s qualities in front of goal the pressure will surely take its toll and RVP could be ready to take some early Christmas presents away from Villa Park this weekend.

Captain Pick Rating: 9/10

Alexis Sanchez – Liverpool vs. Arsenal

Every week we tip Alexis Sanchez and every week he delivers the goods.  Only 7 of his last 9 games have resulted in a score of less than 5, with 6 of those 9 games resulting in scores of 9 or more.  Arsenal head to Liverpool in good form and although Liverpool halted their dire Premier League run in midweek with a win over Bournemouth, Arsenal will be a completely different proposition.  Despite the win, Liverpool still looked shaky at the back and a more clinical forward line could score a few past a leaky Liverpool defence.  Sanchez will enjoy exposing the frailties on Merseyside and could bag another goal and an assist to increase his already impressive Fantasy Football points tally.

Captain Pick Rating: 8.5/10

Yaya Toure – Man City vs. Crystal Palace

Toure has been blowing hot and cold so far this season but has scored 10 points in three of the last five games.  City are struggling without Aguero who is still sidelined and with doubts over Dzeko and Jovetic there are rumours that Man City will not play a striker this week.  If that is the case, then expect Toure to play a pivotal role in a more advanced attacking midfield role and this could be a one of his hot days against a Palace side who would usually be expected to struggle against a strong Man City side.

Captain Pick Rating: 7.5/10
