FPL Gameweek 32 Tips

Gameweek 32 kicks off on the same day as the 2015 Grand National and hopefully picking your winners for Fantasy Premier League will be an easier task than picking the winner in the greatest horse race on the calendar. Have no fear, we are here to provide you with our early round up of GW32 hints and tips.

GW31 Review:

I hate to say it but we did call the Aguero blank last week and urged you to drop him if you were chasing leaders. The usually oh so reliable Argentine forward has now failed to score in 5 games and despite one shot that hit the post, he looked like a shadow of his former self against a resolute Crystal Palace side who now boast some of the best recent form in the Premier League.

We saw some cracking goals elsewhere in the league and saw Arsenal steamroll their way through a disappointing Liverpool side who now look destined for a fifth place finish at best, whilst for most of us it now looks like Chelsea will clinch the league title with a bit to spare. @Meet_the_Gadfly posted a very bold shout on Twitter this week saying;

It’s yet to be confirmed, but if Costa IS out for the season, I think Man Utd will win the league. I’m deadly serious.

A very bold shout indeed, but given the remaining fixtures this may not be such a bad shout and if Utd can beat City in the local derby at Old Trafford this week then the Chelsea Vs. Man United game holds more significance.

City on the other hand could be facing a fourth place finish at best if they lose this weekend, and they looked psychologically defeated after the Monday Night Football this week. The injury to Costa and the poor form of Aguero certainly gives us FPL managers a lot to think about.

Early Gameweek 32 Tips:

A forward line of Aguero, Costa and Kane (which is a fairly popular one) last week would have gained you a measly 5 points, whereas the same team the week before would have earned you 31 points – and that is without a captain pick. Given the poor form of Aguero and the injury to Costa this is where I will be focusing my early GW32 tips.

Before I do press on with the gameweek 32 tips, just one more thing to bear in mind is the teams that do not play in gameweek 33, they are:

  • Arsenal
  • QPR
  • Aston Villa
  • Sunderland

If you have too many players from these teams then you will want to take action, that being said, use your squad players and don’t go taking anything more than a -4 points hit unless your circumstances are so dire – leave you comment below if you need specific advice from me and the community.

Costa and Aguero – The Alternatives…

Sky Sports have cited that Diego Costa will be out for at least two weeks which will see him at least miss games against QPR and Chelsea. With Mourinho admitting that he rushed him back too soon against Stoke City, it is unlikely that Costa will feature in both games of Chelsea’s double game week in GW34 which could be a pivotal week in the Premier League. So that is potentially 3-4 games out for Costa – so if you have him, you NEED to transfer him out.

As for Aguero, my stance remains the same… he is out form and playing in a team that is out of form. They are about to take on Manchester United who are in their best form this season and there is no reason to see these fortunes changing this week. If you have both players, then you are going to need to keep Aguero (as the chances are you will need to start thinking about you Arsenal players the following week) but if you have just Aguero – for me, he has to be dropped. He will score goals before the season is out, BUT… Man City’s season could be over if they lose the Manchester derby this weekend.

Wayne Rooney

Wayne Rooney has started to show why he is Manchester United’s best striker and scored a sublime goal in GW31. He is a player who enjoys goal gluts and at £10.7m he can be afforded by Costa and/or Aguero owners. The only niggling doubt over Rooney is the next two fixtures that United have – Man City and Chelsea. However, he is a big game player – and as we have seen time and again this season, the big game players often perform in these big games. He is a serious alternative!

Bafetimbi Gomis

If you want to go for something a little different with more potential for differential points then you could do worse than look at the Swansea front man who has bagged 3 goals in his last 2 games.

At just £6.5m he provides outstanding value for money and with games against Everton, Leicester and Newcastle on the horizon, it is not too difficult to see his form continuing. A good alternative alternative (and no that’s not a typo).

Olivier Giroud

There is no doubting the form of Arsenal’s number one striker with 8 goals in the last 7 games from the Frenchman and he takes on Burnley with the rest of his Arsenal teammates in Gameweek 32. Although Burnley have a decent record against the big teams this season (0-0 last week against Spurs) it could be more of the same for Giroud this week. Of course, he doesn’t play in GW33 so this is an issue if you have other players not playing in that fixture depleted week. Your call on this one.
