FPL Gameweek 33 Tips
Gameweek 33 Tips:
Gameweek 33 in Fantasy Premier League is one of those awkward FA Cup weeks where we see no less than 6 Premier League sides out of FPL action. With the month of April already in full swing and GW32 throwing up plenty of surprises many FPL managers will see the importance of a productive GW33. Hopefully, you have been following out tips for a while and have prepared your team for this fixture depleted game week – if not, it is time to take action and allow yourself to make the most of this week.
The Premier League teams that are missing this week are:
Early FPL Gameweek 33 Tips:
We will be taking a look at two form teams in Manchester United and Crystal Palace this week but first we will be assessing the chances of player points from Man City from now until the end of the season.
Manchester City – Have the wheels fallen off?
It is fair to say that Man City have blown any lingering hopes of retaining the Premier League silverware this season with the weekend derby defeat to Manchester United taking away more than just their pride. It was not a big surprise given the manner of performances (and more importantly, the results) leading up to the match.
So the big question now is… do we still want Man City players in our teams?
Well, in a nutshell the answer is YES. Make no mistake, the club from the blue half of Manchester is hurting and confidence has taken a massive knock... BUT this next 6 games for City will define what happens to the manager and some of the players before the 2015/16 season begins and they now need to ensure that the unthinkable doesn’t happen – not qualifying for the Champions League.
So with everything to play for, Man City take on a team in GW33 that couldn’t have less motivation right now – West Ham United. Playing at The Etihad for the first time this month, the Sky Blues should easily get back to winning ways and I predict a whitewash against a West Ham side who look to be parting ways with their manager this summer.
The only positive from the match at Old Trafford for City was the return to form for Aguero (something that most FPL managers are thankful for) and Aguero is of course the key City man to have this week.
City take on Aston Villa at home in gameweek 34 so more of the same can be expected as they will try to restore balance in their power struggle with Manchester United in the top 4. David Silva is next best with only 10 points less than the Argentine striker for the season. These two players are the most likely to remain beyond this season with many people calling for a big shake up for City in the summer.
The new form teams – Crystal Palace and Manchester United
Manchester United have won their last 6 games and Crystal Palace their last 4 making the top of the Premier League form table look very interesting indeed. Yannick Bolasie scored a mammoth 24 points in GW32 with an 11 minute hat-trick, an assist, 3 bonus points and a clean sheet – and he only played for 70 minutes! Glenn Murray has also been in inspired form over the last 3 games with no less than 12 points in each of the last 3 games.
Alan Pardew is being hailed as a potential manager of the season candidate and he will fancy his chances of a fifth win in five games with a home game against West Brom in GW33 followed by another home game to Hull City.. If you have an Arsenal striker or midfielder who you want to drop for next week then you could do worse than save some cash with one of these sub £5.5m players. Just be warned that Palace do go on a more difficult run of fixtures from GW35 with a tough away trip to Chelsea.
Unless you have had your head in a vacuum for the last month it will have been hard to ignore Manchester United’s good run of form, however this week they take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge which could pretty much see Chelsea confirmed as Champions if United lose. However, with no Diego Costa and a further doubt over Loic Remy, it is not hard to see Manchester United go for a win this week. I would imagine that Chelsea will play to not lose the game, and we will see a very defensive looking team put out by Mourinho who usually finds a way to get through these games.
On the other hand, we have seen Louis Van Gaal show himself as a master tactician in recent weeks and his teams have started to perform in the big games when they matter. Wayne Rooney is the obvious pick, but I prefer the likes of Ashley Young (who is playing a more advance role at just £4.9m), Juan Mata and Mourane Fellaini. All players who have proved themselves to be pivotal to the upsurge in form for the Red Devils.
The fixtures are tough for United with an away trip to Everton next week, things start to look a little easier from gameweek 35 with games against Crystal Palace, West Brom and Hull in their last 4 games of the season.
Who not to transfer out in gameweek 33…
As tempting as it may be to drop all your Liverpool players for GW33, they have a double gameweek , along with Chelsea, Hull and Leicester in GW34 so keep hold of them – Liverpool particularly as they face West Brom and Hull which represent great captain opportunities.
We will be back later this week with our captain picks for Gameweek 33. See you then!
