Game Week 11 Captain Picks
In association with Premier Punt
We are getting out early this week with our captain picks for game week 11 as there has been plenty of discussion on social media around the subject of who to give the armband to. It may be November 5th on Saturday and we all want fireworks for our GW11 captain choice – so we are bringing you 3 sparkling options and plenty of firework based puns in our captain tips article this week. Remember – only members can get the number one pick – if you are not a member then you can sign up using the link at the bottom of this page.
GW 11 Captain Tip No. 3: Nathan Redmond
If you want to get your game week off with a bang then choosing a differential captain like Nathan Redmond might just be what you need. This is very much a selection based on fixture rather than form, but the Saints have been putting in some decent performances over the last few game weeks without getting a win. Their last two games have been against Man City and Chelsea and it is hardly like the (Catherine) wheels are falling off their season. A trip to Hull City could prove rewarding for backers of the Southampton forward (who is of course classed as a midfielder in Fantasy Premier League) and if the Saints can match their demolition of Burnley (who have since been pretty solid) then the ex-Norwich City man could be on to a winner.
This pick does of course come with risks – particularly given that Southampton play Inter Milan on Thursday night and if Redmond starts that game you might want to avoid picking him. If he doesn’t, then he can be a top differential pick.
GW 11 Captain Tip No. 2: Philippe Coutinho
Liverpool could well win the league this season. That’s according to Sir Alex Ferguson and a whole host of pundits up and down the land. Their explosive forward line is on fire right now and is showing no signs of being dampened by Watford this weekend. The lack of European football at Liverpool this season is a positive and it means Jurgen Klopp can send out his strongest side for every game.
Coutinho is being touted as a future Real Madrid player and although they could not sign him until January 2018 (due to their transfer embargo), the Brazilian is clearly a class act and we are tipping him to be the biggest midfield success story at Liverpool this season. He pulls all the strings and we have tipped him for the last two weeks for which he has delivered.
Back at Anfield this week, the Brazilian will be looking to build upon his recent performances. Liverpool have won 5 of their last 6 encounters with Watford and this looks like being no different.
Watford have been a pretty decent run of form themselves with only one defeat in their last 6 Premier League games but this represents their sternest test yet. There are other tempting fixtures this week but if you want to rest easy over player rotation then Coutinho is a dead cert to feature – and I’d say he has well over 50% chance of a goal or an assist.
