Game Week 12 Captain Tips
Game Week 12 Captain Tips
In association with Premier Punt
Now that the nonsense of international football is out of the way we can all turn our attention back to what really matters. Yes, that’s right - Fantasy Premier League game week 12 is just around the corner and we are looking for 3 top captain picks to kick off our November after a bad week for many of the top managers last time out.
The Liverpool bandwagon has been in full swing for some time now and Chelsea can now be added to the out of control cart of FPL fickleness. 5 goals for the Blues and 6 goals for the Reds in the last FPL round of fixtures means that hundreds of thousands have been rushing to bring in their players for GW12.
Following the poor performance of our resident podcaster JP on this week’s podcast – yes that’s right – he tipped a suspended player (listen in to hear myself and Cliff laugh him out of the studio) we are back to give you three top choices for the captain selection for GW12.
So with that being said… let’s take a look at this week’s top picks.
GW12 Captain Pick No. 3: Diego Costa
Chelsea blew Everton away in their last game and they look completely solid on every part of the pitch since Conte switched to his tried and tested favoured formation. Diego Costa has benefited from this as much as anyone and with 7 goals in his last 8 games as well as 2 assists he is hot property in FPL terms. A lingering suspension (should he pick up another yellow) as well as a slight injury concern might be enough to put off many managers putting the Spaniard in their teams but those who already have him have little to lose by captaining him in gameweek 12.
Middlesbrough have been fairly solid for the most part this season and whilst it is not completely implausible that Chelsea could get another cricket score here, it is somewhat unlikely. That being said, it is easy to see Costa continuing his good run of form if he is fit and if you don’t have the other two captain selections he is almost a must pick for the GW12 captain choice.
GW12 Captain Pick No. 2: Romelu Lukaku
Old favourite Romelu Lukaku returned to scoring form in the international break with Belgium as he notched two late goals against Estonia on Sunday in an 8-1 drubbing. After experiencing a drubbing of his own at old club Chelsea in GW11 he will be looking to get back on track for Everton who take on Swansea at home in GW12 in what is potentially the fixture of the weekend for FPL punters.
Bob Bradley has had an awful time of it since taking over and with 6 goals conceded in their last two games it is hardly inspiring stuff coming from the Swans.
If Everton can click back in to gear then they can cause some serious damage against this ever changing Swansea rearguard and the most likely candidate to inflict the goals on them is Lukaku who has already registered 7 goals so far this term.
If you are looking for differential then you are not going to find it with Lukaku who features in over a third of FPL teams, however check out our number one pick here for our number one pick who also has some decent differential potential this week.
