Game Week 13 Picks 2015
Early Game Week 13 Tips
Sponsored by Premier Punt
As we head in to the second third of the season following another international break we look ahead to the game week 13 with the enthusiasm associated with a 5 year old at Christmas – hopefully we won’t be disappointed with the gifts our players provide us with this weekend.
Assuming you took our advice you should have two free transfers at your disposal for GW13 and this time it is the injuries that were picked up in GW12 rather than injuries picked up on international duty that will be dominating many managers thoughts. Injuries to Payet, Bony and Vardy, Kompany, Smalling and Bellerin are all concerns for FPL managers and with almost 30% of managers having the French West Ham player Payet, there is potentially a call for replacements needed in defence, midfield and attack.
Imagine your concerns should you happen to own the likes of Bellerin, Payet, Bony and Vardy!
Of course, there are still a round of international fixtures to play so we urge you not to make any changes until Friday or Saturday morning, but it doesn’t hurt to start planning your changes…
Our top striker pick for GW13:
If you are concerned over the fitness of Wilfried Bony or Jamie Vardy then you might be looking for cover. I happen to have both of these players in my own personal team and the one I’ll be looking to replace is Wilfried Bony as the Man City striker has a tricky hamstring injury to overcome plus the prospect of a tough fixture against a rejuvenated Liverpool. Vardy on the other hand has been give a 75% chance of playing by our good friend @BenDinnery and we understand that he has a good chance of being fit for the visit to Newcastle on Saturday – there is the small matter of a Premier League goal scoring record to be broken and we fancy him to smash it this weekend.
The player we think FPL managers should be looking to whether or not they have a striker to replace is Olivier Giroud. He has his faults, but the form of Arsenal is top notch and given the injury to Theo Walcott he will now get a good run in the team. Not only that, but the next four fixtures for Arsenal are very exciting with them playing WBA (a), Norwich (a), Sunderland (h) and Aston Villa (a). At a reasonable price of £8.8m and with just 8% ownership, Giroud represents excellent value.
Our second transfer target for GW13:
This very much depends on your needs. If we are basing things on fixtures then it is hard to look past Everton, who not only have some very good upcoming fixtures but have also started to score goals. Lukaku also represents very good value, but we are looking for a potential replacement for Payet so we are looking towards the Toffees’ creative midfield players.
Ross Barkley has played every minute of every game this season and he was on fire at the start of the season. He has been a little more hit and miss of late but with the fixtures being as kind as they are for Everton we fancy him to recapture his goal scoring and assist based form.
Gerard Deulofeu is the other player on our radar and he certainly does have the recent form but our concerns remain over his game time so Barkley gets our vote. At £6.8m he is easily affordable for owners of Payet, even if you bought him when he was lower priced – pocket the profit and reinvest.
A Word On Aguero…
Many word tipping GW13 as being the week for Aguero to return but it doesn’t look like happening this week. Back in October we told you that 5th December would be a good aim to bring him back to your team as Man City have tough fixtures against Liverpool and Southampton to come and match fitness will be a concern for the prolific Argentine striker.
Keep him in the back of your mind and have a plan to bring him back, but you have a couple of weeks until you need to bring him back yet.
