Game Week 22 FPL Picks
Game Week 22 Tips
Almost a full week of preparation separates the now departed GW21 and the upcoming GW22 and there is plenty to ponder following another brilliant weekend of Premier League action. Pep Guardiola seems to be struggling to find a winning formula for his Manchester City side who crashed out 4-0 at the hands of Everton, whilst the Blues of Chelsea have problems of their own despite running out impressive winners over last seasons champions Leicester City. Antonio Conte tried to paper over the Digeo Costa shaped cracks in his post match interview but the issues are there for all to see and his Fantasy Premier League price is in free fall as managers scamper to figure out what to do with the striker who would be playing Hull City at home in game week 22 – not something to be sniffed at were he to play!
Gameweek 22 will be all about the captain pick and maximizing the players from the tastiest fixtures – and there are plenty to make your mouth water this week. Home games for Arsenal (vs. Burnley), Liverpool (vs. Swansea) and Chelsea (vs. Hull) are the three of significant note and with Everton heading to hapless Crystal Palace there is plenty to get excited about.
Rather than give a generic overview of the fixtures this week we thought we would highlight just the top players you need to be focusing on and look to answer what look like being the week’s biggest questions.
Game Week 22 Top Picks
The three fixtures that we have already highlighted are the ones where you should be focusing most of your attention this week – but note should be taken of Manchester United’s very good run of recent form. They could have won against Liverpool just as easily as they could have lost it but Ibrahimovic is proving himself to be a top asset. An away trip to Stoke is followed by a home fixture against Hull City so don’t even consider pressing the transfer out button on him – do however bring him in if you can.
Alexis Sanchez is red hot
The fitness of Olivier Giroud will be tested this week but there are no such concerns for his team mate Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean is on fire right now and although he is perhaps not the one to captain (against a resilient Burnely side) he is a must have player. Yes he is costly, but if you haven’t already got him in and you are harbouring the likes of KDB – then have a word with yourself and sort out the situation pronto.
Alonso is no clown
Hull City do not have a hope in hell of causing an upset at Stamford Bridge on Sunday and there are a whole host of players who are likely to do well from a Fantasy Premier League perspective. Marcos Alonso is a player that we have tipped consistently and we have said that with the positions he takes up that the goals will come – no-one really saw the brace coming that he scored last week but there will be more to come from the Chelsea wing back this season and he is almost nailed on for a clean sheet this weekend. The doubters were out last week after his early substitution against Spurs, but he and his Chelsea team bounced right back with a comprehensive win and there are a host of Chelsea players who will likely score big this week – but we will look at them later in the article.
Boring James Milner to score again?
James Milner might have been given the ‘boring’ tag once or twice in his career but he certainly knows how to take a penalty. His 6th of the season from the penalty spot earned a point for Liverpool against in form Man Utd last weekend and there could be more of the same in this game.
I fully expect to see Coutinho return to the starting 11 which could cause a problem for Origi and the Brazilian could be one to jump on early before every one else does.
Lallana was quiet against United but will have more freedom against Swansea who were battered by Arsenal at home last weekend and this is not looking like being any easier. You need at least one Liverpool midfielder in your team this week out of Coutinho, Lallana and Milner.
We will be looking at some key questions for FPL GW22 now but you will need be logged in as a member to read the answers. We will be looking answering the following:
Will Diego Costa play against Hull and should I keep him in my FPL side?
Should I sell Sergio Aguero and my other Man City Players?
