Game Week 24 Captain Tips
Gameweek 24 Captain Picks
Sponsored by Premier Punt
With the League Cup already robbing Fantasy Premier League managers of one of their potential captain picks for game week 24 (with Kevin De Bruyne being stretchered off against Everton) it is time to look ahead to the gameweek 24 pick. It is never too early in our book to start checking out your captain choice and we are hoping for a massive differential pick this week just like last week when we selected Roberto Firmino as the differential pick. That’s enough basking in short lived glory though, so onwards and hopefully upwards we go.
This week we have 3 captain picks for you, two that you will find here and one more for premium members here. We will of course bring you our definitive captain pick on Tuesday afternoon (usually Saturday morning) if you are subscribed to our free email list. You can sign up below:
GW24 Captain Pick No. 3: Harry Kane
Spurs travel to Norwich City on Tuesday evening and Harry Kane is pretty much guaranteed his starting place having most likely been rested for Saturday’s trip to Colchester. Even if he does start in the FA Cup he will still feature in this trip to Carrow Road to face a team that has conceded 11 goals in their last 3 matches.
This game represents a similar test to the one that Spurs faced last weekend when Sunderland visited the Lane and with Kane grabbing a goal and an assist that day there is certainly more than just a half chance of the same happening here. Spurs now find themselves comfortably inside the top 4, sitting 5 points clear of their nearest rivals Manchester United and they will be keen to see their good run continue. This looks like a sure fire away win if ever there was one – hopefull with Harry Kane profiting a good few FPL points along the way.
GW24 Captain Pick No. 2: Roberto Firmino
I was convinced of the pick of Firmino last week and I can see more of the same in this game that sees Liverpool travel to Leicester. I am not saying that Liverpool will win the game and I could probably just as easily have suggested Jamie Vardy as the number 2 captain tip, but I like the fact that Firmino is a midfielder playing as a striker and the form speaks for itself. 4 goals and 1 assist in his last 3 games is enough to turn heads but he is still only selected by 7.5% of managers and for that reason he still remains a differential in my book.
Leicester have kept things much tighter at the back in recent games and have only conceded 1 goal in the league since Boxing Day so it will be interesting to see how they fare against this attacking Liverpool side. The Liverpool defence is pretty weak at the moment so it is likely that both teams will try and outscore each other like we saw in the Norwich Vs. Liverpool game last week.
Whether you opt for Vardy or Firmino, this should be a game that rewards the forwards over the defenders. Still not convinced on Firmino? Check out our members only player profile here on Firmino here.
