Game Week 29 Captain Picks

Hopefully you were on Romelu Lukaku just like we were in midweek and although his one goal was hardly going to bring massive rewards it was better than many of the other captain choices that were being banded around. The poor performances of most of the top teams meant that the returns were low for most of the captain picks and for once we were happy with an Aguero blank given that we didn’t even mention him in last week’s captain picks article. There are 3 captain choices for you to choose from this week but you will need to be a member to read the final choice – but I don’t think you will need to be a prophet to figure it out!
GW29 Captain Pick No. 3: Romelu Lukaku
The Everton man scored his third goal in as many games against Villa on Tuesday and could have scored more to reward those who followed our number one tip last week. There is an air of romance around this selection as he is fondly thought of here at FFT and the visit of West Ham will be a tough one. That being said, West Ham had to put a real shift in on Wednesday night to see off Spurs and it might be an away game too far for them to beat Everton who have showed an upturn in form of late.
Lukaku could well end this season as the top FPL striker and sits in second place currently just 12 points off Jamie Vardy. We think that the former will outperform the latter this week as Leicester have a tough away game that sees three of the top FPL players go head to head when Ighalo, Vardy and Mahrez meet at Vicarage Road. A low score draw looks on the cards or perhaps even a Watford victory so we will be steering clear of that one.
GW29 Captain Pick No. 2: Roberto Firmino
Firmino and Liverpool were impressive against Man City in a game that saw the Brazilian get a goal and an assist. His last 5 games read 18, 2, 13, 6, 12 points and he has started in all of those games suggesting he will start at Crystal Palace. The Eagles have been poor in recent games and look woeful defensively having been much more solid earlier in the season.
The striker that Klopp will select is difficult to predict, but anyone who plays has a lot of potential and we suspect it will be Daniel Sturridge. Firmino has the form and the potential to replicate his GW28 score at least so if you don’t have our number one pick then we suggest you consider him as a serious contender.
Okay, so you know who the number one pick is and there is zero differential in him as everyone will be jumping on him this week – but if you do want to read the reasoning behind our number one pick then you will need to read the members captain tips article here.
