Game Week 29 Tips
What a time to be alive! Finally a real week of Premier League action with all 20 teams back in action! Yes we love the Champions League, we can even get down with the FA Cup, but there's just nothing like the good old Premier League, and for us FPL managers, it's these full weeks that we live for. As usually we've broken down every FPL game in week 29 to see which players have great matches and who you need to be playing.
Game Week 29 Picks
West Brom Vs. Arsenal
After quite some time without a league game, Arsenal are back in action and desperate for a win. The 5-0 comfortable in against Lincoln was just about par for the course and shouldn't tell us much, though coming in off the back of a win can't be bad for confidence.
Alexis Sanchez is still the overall highest scoring FPL player this season, and his form has continued to look imperious. A truly reliable point scorer and a player that belongs in most fantasy teams, you'd really like his odds of scoring in this game. Koscielny and Bellerin are both point scoring defenders, but none of Arsenal's midfield looks overly appealing on face value. Although Petr Cech is fairly popular and likely to get a clean sheet, you'd have to worry that WBA won't give him the opportunity to get many saves or other valuable stats.
The Baggies' excellent fantasy defender McAuley remains one of the best value players in fantasy and if you've not made a move to pick him up yet then you should consider it. Keeper Foster should also get plenty of action.
Crystal Palace Vs. Watford
Not an enticing game for FPL managers. There are worse midfielders than Zaha and worse attacking options than Benteke but even for their low prices, you can do better. Watford are a different story in that they have the very useful Capoue in their ranks, and this is a good match for him. Forward Deeney is next best.
Sunderland Vs. Burnley
We think this game represents an excellent opportunity for Defoe and really fancy him to score at home to Burnley. If it was a quieter week he might even have got into the captain discussion just because it fits his style of game so perfectly. Though keeper Pickford is popular, you'd worry Burnley won'y give him enough shots to save this week. On the burnley end, you'd have similar worries about Heaton but he should have a bit more to do. Andy Gray is an okay striker if you're on a thin budget.
Everton Vs. Hull
What a wonderful game for Lukaku this should be. As expected he was fantastic again against West Brom, getting a goal and an assist, and this is another perfect home game for him to perform in. Your options from Everton don't stop there however, Coleman and Baines (slight injury worry) represent excellent defensive options, especially in this game, and we think Barkley is also a decent option.
The only Hull player that will be generating any interest is Jakupovic who have a very good match up and should be one of the highest scoring keepers this week.
Stoke Vs. Chelsea
"But how would he do in a rainy day in Stoke?". Well for Costa and Hazard we're about to find out. Personally I think after back to back games with goals, Costa will do just fine and I do like Hazard to chip in with an assist. While Alonso, Cahill and Azpilicueta are all excellent choices this week, Courtois might not have enough to do as Stoke put up shop.
Stoke midfielder Joe Allen has been good value for most of the year but this might not represent his best game opportunity. The more attractive option from Stoke this week is Lee Grant who may well concede a couple but will likely have plenty of saves to go with it.
West Ham Vs. Leicester City
Can Leicester keep their recent run of hot form going? Well, we're not ones to say they won't. While Wes Morgan's been good all year, we're also getting keener on Leicester's attacking players of late. Preference is for Vardy to knock one in and tends to be up for tough away games than his Algerian counterpart. From the West Ham side, Snodgrass is the obvious option and it's a pretty good match up for him at home to Leicester. Michael Antonio is also a very under valued midfielder and a big point scorer that's worth considering.
Bournemouth Vs. Swansea
Bad teams? No. Bad fantasy teams? Possibly. Although Bournemouth continue to over perform in the real world, few of their fantasy players get big performances. Defender Daniels is still a pretty good option, and this home game should suit him. We tipped Joshua King last week and he went on to get 18 points so certainly give him another look this week. From Swansea, the best option is Sigurdsson who is worthy in a start and is in our team. Watch Llorente's injury status through the week as he may have issues.
Middlesbrough Vs. Man Utd
The big man fantasy wise, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, is out suspended for this game, which is devastating for his owners as he'd certainly ave been in the mi up for captain. That considered, attack minded defender Valencia is the best bet from Utd, while de Gea remains a good option in goal.
Fro Middlesbrough Negredo is quite popular but he's on a real goal drought and a game against Utd is hardly the one to end that, so we're cold on him. Our hottest tip in this game is Victor Valdes who will be shot at a lot, and have plenty of opportunity to impress.
Tottenham Vs. Southampton
Harry Kane is going to be in the captain mix up and he's got just the perfect game coming up in the middle of his incredible goal streak. The only worry is that after 5 goals in 2 games he's only rated 50% likely to play this week so keep a close eye on his status and so will we. Walker is still one of the best point scoring defenders and will be a popular choice while Alli's FPL performances are every but as good as his real contributions for his team.
There's not a whole lot f interesting prospects for Southapton, but Gabbiadini could shine if this turns into a shoot out. van Dijk remains injured and won't play, while midfield Redmond looks a good bet. Fraser Forser in goal should have plenty to do and we're giving him a start.
Man City Vs. Liverpool
This should make for a fantastic game of football, and we're also hoping it'll be high scoring. Liverpool welcomes you to another game of fantasy bingo with their crowded midfield. Mane remains our favourite this week and the most likely to score or assist. Firmino should play but has a niggling injury which makes him the one to consider leaving out, with Lallana rounding out the fabulous four.
Liverpool can leak goals, which should be good news for Aguero who disappointed in his fantasy double header. Though he's of most interest, consider Stones and Sterling in defence and midfield respectively as City will come out all guns blazing.
