Game Week 5 Captain Tips
Game Week 5 Captain Picks
In association with Premier Punt
The season is starting to hot up nicely now we are 4 games in to the campaign and the choice for captaincy this week are plentiful. Whilst most managers will be narrowing their shortlist down to one or two players there are in fact plenty of options this week.
With relatively kind fixtures for Everton and Spurs many eyes will be turning to the likes of Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku, whilst the less easily persuaded managers might want to opt for the more consistent Costa who takes on a Liverpool defence that has looked leaky to say the least.
Man City taking on Bournemouth at home will attract plenty of attention but with no Aguero (who scored a hat-trick last night) it could be a bit of a lottery when choosing a captain from the Sky Blues.
We are taking the hard work out of it for you and presenting 3 captain tips for game week 5 here:
GW5 Captain Pick No. 3: Kevin De Bruyne
It is hard not to be impressed by the performances of Man City under Pep Guardiola and with a home fixture against Bournemouth who are hardly known for having a steely defence, this is a mouthwatering prospect. In truth, City could have been out of sight against Man Utd at half time last week and we expect them to come out of the blocks flying and continue their Champions League and domestic form at a canter in this one.
The delayed game from Tuesday to Wednesday shouldn’t affect them too much and whilst it will have meant they have had to alter their preparations a little, they have more than enough to cope. Kevin De Bruyne has been sublime for City and he looks the star player – yes he is going to cost you, but he is the key man in their attacking play and is on set pieces – he’s a top prospect for game week 5.
GW5 Captain Pick No. 2: Romelu Lukaku
Few people predicted the hat-trick heroics of Romelu Lukaku on Monday but in truth it has been on the cards for some time. We did suggest him as a top differential pick in our captains email last weekend but even we didn’t foresee the three goals. Everton did look impressive and they look a lot more composed under Koeman who looks like he has complete faith in his outfield stars.
Middlesbrough visit Goodison Park this weekend and will find it tough if Everton are in the same mood. Lukaku will be flying into teams this week and he will be a popular captain pick.
Last week’s number one pick scored two goals – if you want to check out this week’s captain pick then go to the members article here.
