Game Week 6 Captain Picks
Sponsored by Premier Punt
A whistle stop tour of our game week 6 captain picks this week and we have left it late to publish this week given the injuries to some key players this week. Vincent Kompany will definitely be missing for Man City which could give West Ham the chance of scoring the first goal of the season against the sky blues. Samir Nasri also has an injury which means he is likely to miss the encounter so Kevin De Bruyne fans will be hoping for a start for the Belgian. But the big news for the game is that Sergio Aguero has been described as 100% following the completion of around 7 minutes against Juventus in the Champions League – despite the injury concern and lack of form he will of course make our GW6 Captain shortlist.
Our Captain Picks for Game Week 6:
Pick 1: Christian Benteke
Benteke has been the one constant in a poor Liverpool team this season and with the returning Coutinho we expect a response to the Man Utd defeat in a home game against Norwich City. Benteke is pretty much keeping up his 1 goal in 2 games scoring ratio and we would be hopeful of him bagging a goal here.
Pick 2: David Silva Vs. Sergio Aguero
Man City take on West Ham who have been a little Jekyll and Hyde this season in their performances. They have certainly saved some big performances against the big teams and have looked compact in those games. The game against Bournemouth where they conceded 4 goals is the biggest cause for concern but we don’t think they will play in the same way as they did when they tried to outscore their south coast opponents on that day. Aguero is a good option in this game but we do have concerns over his form and how the injury may limit his game time (however he will start) – check out our Aguero injury article here. David Silva on the other hand is the player that makes this team tick and he is involved in almost everything. He can be the player to unlock the West Ham defence and assists could be the order of the day for the Spanish magician. We would captain him over Aguero – but if you only have Aguero then he is a very solid pick as ever.
Pick 3: Callum Wilson
Wilson was unfortunate not to score last week having a good effort smash off the post but in truth Bournemouth were woeful against Norwich. They will be expecting a response today against Sunderland and it is a good opportunity for them to register their second win of the season. Wilson has performed well this season and his value has risen as a result. We fancy him to bag a goal against Sunderland. We are hoping for an early home goal to open this game up or this could end up as a low scoring draw.
