Game Week 6 Captain Tips
Game Week 6 Captain Picks
In association with Premier Punt
Last week was a pretty decent week with all of our captain picks grabbing goals and two of the three getting assists too. This week we are providing you with our top two captain tips for game week 6 and our premium members will also get a differential captain selection to consider.
Before we get started, it’s worth reminding you of how you should be using fantasy football tips such as these. Whilst we do rank these tips in order of preference, there are times where the number 2 or 3 option will be better for you than the number 1 captain choice. Likewise, there will be times where the differential pick might be a better fit for you, depending on where you are in your mini-league and whether or not you are playing a manager of the month competition.
Remember, it has to ultimately be you’re your decision – we are just trying to give you a little guidance. The real key is the must have player – this is a tip that our members get each and every week. Last week we tipped Capoue as the must have player and he duly obliged our members with his 4th goal of the season.
Anyway – enough pontificating – lets get on with the captain selections…
GW6 Captain Pick No. 2: Roberto Firmino
Liverpool looked incredible when taking on Chelsea last Friday and a home game against a Hull side that lost their way against an Arsenal team that conceded 4 goals to Jurgen Klopp’s side earlier in the season might be just the tonic to bring the house down at Anfield this weekend. Of course, the form might not play out like that but the likes Coutinho and Mane were incredible at Chelsea last weekend – the returning Firmino gets our vote over both of these though based on price and game time.
An affordable £8.4m and an ownership of less than 10% makes Firmino a very good captain choice for GW6. In a week that doesn’t seem to have too many standout fixtures, Liverpool Vs. Hull looks like being one that will hold the secret to success.
Daniel Sturridge doesn’t seem to fit in the Klopp style of football and this could play in to the hands of the likes of Mane and Firmino who will be looking to get forward as much as possible playing just off whoever the chosen striker is.
Firmino has completed every game he has started so far this season whereas Coutinho has only played 90 minutes once. I expect Liverpool to win this one comfortably and if they don’t score 3 goals or more then I will be very surprised!
GW6 Captain Pick No. 1: Kevin De Bruyne
This was JP’s podcast guaranteed points scorer for game week 6 and he is our top pick for captain this week. A return of 13 and 14 points in the last two weeks puts him bang in form. The returning Sergio Aguero will of course be dangerous too, but KDB looks like the man of the moment at City with almost every attacking move going through him.
The Belgian international is pulling the strings for Pep at the moment and an away game at Swansea will be unlikely to be as tight as the 2-1 victory they enjoyed in the League Cup in midweek. A full strength City side is likely to rip a hole in the defence of the South Wales club and KDB looks likely to benefit and make it 3 weeks of 10+ points per week.
The Firmino pick is something of a differential but our members choice goes to a differential player who has ownership of less than 1.5% so if you really want to get one over on your mates check out the full captain selection article here.
