Game Week 7 Captain Picks
Sponsored by Premier Punt
Most FPL managers are hoping it will be lucky number 7 this game week when it comes to picking an FPL captain and there are some serious candidates this week to get you thinking. If you are one of the 500,000+ managers who have bought Martial in to your team this week then you may be tempted to look no further, but we would argue that there are some excellent alternatives this weekend.
Before making a the captain choice for GW7 you may want to check out some our other articles from this week:
Top Three Captain Picks for Game Week 7
3: Dimitri Payet – West Ham Vs Norwich
Our outside pick for this week is Dimitri Payet who has made a big impact in his opening games for West Ham and with over 19% of FPL managers owning him he could be a big hit in GW7. An average of 6.8 points per game is an excellent return for a midfielder and with Norwich travelling to Upton Park this week they could be in for a tough time against in form West Ham. If you don’t own him, he might be a good proposition to bring in with three good fixtures coming up.
Other contenders that we considered as our third choice were Alexis Sanchez playing against a loose Leicester defence, Eden Hazard away at Newcastle, Riyad Mahrez (well why not!) and Odion Ighalo as Watford take on Crystal Palace at home. Payet just pipped it for us though!
Kevin De Bruyne – Spurs Vs Man City
Kevin De Bruyne has looked a class act and has settled straight in to this Man City side who go to a Spurs side still hurting from the North London derby defeat in midweek. There is talk of David Silva being rested for this game which would give De Bruyne free reign like he had last week. Another goal in midweek continues his fine run of form and we can expect a big response from City after their defeat to West Ham last weekend.
Anthony Martial – Man Utd Vs Sunderland
We gave this an awful lot of thought before going straight in with the obvious Martial captain pick but we just cannot see past it whichever way we look at it. With over 21% ownership already he will be a popular choice this week but with 4 goals in 4 games for Man Utd and the prospect of a game against a woeful Sunderland in front of an expectant Old Trafford crowd many managers will be hopeful of another brace here.
We always leave our captain picks late so we have the very latest information, but if you want our absolute latest one and only captain pick which is sent out on Saturday morning then you need to subscribe below – don’t worry it’s free and you get the secret inside last minute tip.
