Game Week 7 Captain Tips
Game Week 7 Captain Picks
Our captain picks are on fire of late and if there was ever a week to jinx the run then this would probably be it. Game week 7 looks like a tough week to predict but there are some players in seriously hot form right now that need some serious consideration. The impact of Champions and Europa League should be taken in to consideration but only with a pinch. The news that Wayne Rooney is likely to stay on the bench for the visit of Stoke may cause a few people to look to the likes of Ibrahimovic, Rahsford and Jesse Lingard as decent game time options – but are any of these worthy of a captain pick selection?
GW7 Captain Pick No. 3 – Diego Costa
Chelsea have had a bad run in the last two games but cast your mind back to before the visit of Liverpool to the Bridge when the opposition was somewhat less challenging and you will remember good results and Diego Costa showing the ruthlessness of a world class striker. Whether or not you would put Costa in that bracket is up for debate, but what isn’t up for debate is the way Hull City have completely capitulated in the last few weeks at the hands of better opposition.
Chelsea have no midweek fixtures to concern themselves with so their preparation for the trip to Hull could hardly be better and if Conte can get his team back on track then this could be another difficult day at the office for Hull. Expect at least two Chelsea goals in this game and as Costa has scored 50% of all of Chelsea’s Premier League goals this season – expect him to be amongst the action.
GW7 Captain Pick No. 2 – Phillipe Coutinho
Only Aguero and Ibrahimovic have averaged more shots per game than Coutinho so far this season and that is pretty good for a player who’s game time is considerably less than the two strikers. Coutinho averages 4.2 shots per game and although a trip to the Liberty Stadium will be no simple task this week, it is a task that this talented Liverpool side are more than up to.
Liverpool do have a blip in them (we saw that at Burnley earlier this season) but they do look to have found their stride now and any one of Lallana, Mane or Coutinho could be set to profit in this game.
Our podcast tipster JP selected the Brazilian midfielder last week and was not disappointed with a big return so unless you have the number one game week 7 captain pick – you will be hard pressed to find a better candidate this week.
