Gameweek 25 Fantasy Football Tips

Gameweek 25 provides us with one of those rare delights in the Fantasy Premier League season – a midweek feast of games to warm us up on these cold February nights. With the games starting just 2 days after the last ball was kicked in gameweek 24 some managers will undoubtedly get caught out and not make any changes to their teams. Of course, a seasoned pro like yourself would never get caught with your pants down like those managers who don’t frequent the fantasy football tips on this site – so let’s give them a good spanking!

Gameweek 25 Injury and Suspension Update:

With some key players looking set to miss gameweek 25 and some key players coming back in, there is a real chance to exploit those less savvy FPL managers. Let’s take a look at the key starting issues this week: Raheem Sterling: 75% chance of playing – has a foot injury and could be a casualty. Will most likely play if fit against a strong Spurs side. If he is your only doubt it could be a good time to drop him with some tough fixtures ahead. Alexis Sanchez: Arsene Wenger has said that the Chilean superstar will be in the match day squad and we expect him to start. It was touch and go for Spurs but Wenger will be keen to get The Gunners back on track here against Leicester – could be a big points scorer! Charlie Austin: Not only are QPR on a dire run, but they now face at least 2 game weeks without their talisman. This will not be good news to the 22% of FPL players that still have in their teams. If you have him, I’m afraid it is time to look elsewhere – perhaps Defoe or Kane?

Gameweek 25 Key Players:

On the face of it there are some very winnable fixtures this week. Although the pick of these has to be Arsenal at home to Leicester and so the likes of Santi Cazorla, Alexis Sanchez, Danny Welbeck and Olivier Giroud will be the key players to look at. There is very good potential for a clean sheet here so we will be looking at Bellerin for value. Man City travel to Stoke City following a poor display at home to Hull City and a response will be expected. Will this be the day that Aguero gets his goal? We won’t be banking on it this week, especially as many players will probably forget to change him – we will be going for the differentials. Man Utd take on Burnley at home in what you would usually expect to be an attacking, flair filled game. These have not really been words associated with their play this season and although I would like to be able to put the likes of Falcao and Di Maria in my team – at the moment the form doesn’t allow me to – steer clear until you see the form. It could well happen here – but for now I will be looking at the inform players.

Gameweek 25 Captain Picks:

Alexis Sanchez: If you are brave in predicting his starting place then he could be the gameweek 24 captain pick. We think he will start but there is still that niggle of doubt. If he starts then we can expect big things in terms of a points return. Mesut Ozil: A big return from his first two games back and he looks pretty sharp. He will be involved and will get good chances in this game. It will be interesting to see how he fares with Sanchez in the team too – at under £9m he is a steal and currently has just 2.6% ownership – a big differential potential here!

View image | Jermaine Defoe: Sunderland take on a struggling QPR team who cannot pick up a win anywhere at the moment. This will be a huge game in determining the fates of these two sides next season and if anyone will bag for Sunderland you have to be looking towards Jermain Defoe. Two goals in two games have seen his stock rise and we have taken note. We will still be going with Arsenal players in GW25 for captain but he is a very worthy differential captain. Good luck and see you on Saturday.
