gameweek 32 captain pick
FPL Gameweek 32 Captain Picks
The English Premier League can be a cruel mistress at times, and in gameweek 31 she was as giving to some as she was punishing to others. Gameweek 32 arrives as the perfect tonic to wash away those hangovers, whether they were celebratory or self pitying will mainly depend on whether you captained Charlie Austin or Christian Benteke last week. So, with the importance of our captain choice for gameweek 32 being clear to see, we hope to make the best GW32 captain pick a little more predictable than the 2015 Grand National winner.
With Sergio Aguero and Diego Costa being covered in our gameweek 32 tips article earlier this week, it seems that we should be focusing our attention elsewhere so I’m going to get straight to the chase (count the Grand National puns at your leisure) this week.
Loic Remy – QPR Vs. Chelsea
With Diego Costa being a confirmed non-runner this weekend, our faith could be put in the ex-Newcastle player who has looked more than capable when deputising for Diego this season. Remy has come out and said how much he wants to seize this opportunity and QPR (who conceded 3 goals to Villa in midweek) may well be suffering fatigue following 2 tough away games.
There is of course the concern that Drogba will start ahead of Remy, but Jose has tended to favour Remy for the starting berth most often. Chelsea have a real opportunity to extend their lead at the top as one or both of the Manchester clubs have to drop points this weekend so their will be no motivational issues for the Blues. Remy is a good option if you like a striker as captain.
Eden Hazard – QPR Vs. Chelsea
For mostly the same reasons as Remy, but like my good friend Quigliano always says on the podcast, Hazard likes to bully the lesser teams and he could take advantage of some weary QPR legs here. Hazard is in fine form right now with 42 points in his last 5 games alone – A top captain choice for gameweek 32
Harry Kane – Spurs Vs. Aston Villa
As I have already pointed out, Villa conceded 3 goals in midweek against a QPR side that have struggled to pick up points on the road this season (this month excluded). Harry Kane is the type of player to exploit any weakness, and again Villa could be feeling a little lame (sorry – couldn’t resist) following their epic match against Rangers.
Harry Kane has silenced his critics all season long and he didn’t score last week, but we are past Kane bashing and fully back him to score at least one goal this week. Spurs need a result to prevent their season crumbling at the end of what was a decent first half – we would certainly be captaining Kane over Aguero this week with Spurs having home advantage. Kane is our top captain pick for GW32.
Olivier Giroud – Burnley Vs. Arsenal
Arsenal certainly laid down the gauntlet last week and silenced my questions over whether or not they could sustain their form. Could they finish second or even win the league? Second is certainly a distinct possibility and Wenger will be pleased with the steel they have shown in recent weeks. A lot of this is upturn in form is down to Olivier Giroud who has scored 9 goals in his last 10 appearances.
Burnley on the other hand, have shown some steel of their own in games against the top sides, most recently sealing a 0-0 stalemate against Spurs at Turf Moor. However, Arsenal are made of tougher stuff right now and will find a way to unpick the lock of the Claret and Blue rearguard paving the way to a possible treble or more of goals. Giroud is highly likely to be amongst the scorers and is the clear form captain pick for Gameweek 32.
