FPL Gameweek 37 Tips
The penultimate week of the Fantasy Premier League season gives us the beauty of an Arsenal double gameweek and the gritty determination of 180 minutes for Sunderland too – so we are taking an early look ahead with our early gameweek 37 tips.
Last time we had a double gameweek the prices of the top players rose early in the week so it is important to act early in a week such as this when your transfer kitty will be pushed to it’s limits! If you have been following our tips for a while then the chances are that you have prepared for the double game week by saving a free transfer or having the players in place already – and if you haven’t been following us for a while… well… poor you!
Double Gameweek 37 Tips:
We won’t be limiting ourselves to just Arsenal and Sunderland this week but it certainly makes sense to start our look at GW37 at these two clubs. Both teams have plenty to play for with Arsenal hunting down an achievable second place finish and Sunderland looking to secure their Premier League future following a good 2-0 win at Everton last week.
Sunderland Player Tips:
Sunderland have a 6 pointer against Leicester at home followed by a tough trip to The Emirates and I fully expect the first game to be a cagey affair with a low scoring draw the most likely result. Sunderland will struggle to keep a clean sheet against Arsenal but they have a tough first assignment against Man Utd and there could be some squad rotation which would play into Sunderland’s hands.
At £4.1m, Van Annholt is the obvious pick in terms of a defensive player and he will have a good chance of a clean sheet against Leicester – who although have been in great form of late – could be nullified here by not wanting to lose.
Arsenal Player Tips:
With Danny Welbeck injured it makes sense to stick with the out of form Olivier Giroud as he is almost guaranteed to start both games. He scored against Manchester United earlier in the season and will hopefully bag against Sunderland. Probably not captain potential for this week due to him not scoring in the last 4 games but most players will want him in their teams.
The other two players that you simply must have in your FPL team this week are Santi Cazorla and Alexis Sanchez (if you can afford them that is). Both players have had exceptional seasons and a double chance to get points from them is not something that should be sniffed at.
If money is something of an issue then you could perhaps go for another midfielder in Ozil at just £8.9m as an alternative to Alexis Sanchez as he certainly still possesses the class needed to reap big points this week.
Elsewhere, Liverpool take on Crystal Palace at home and although the result was better against Chelsea, they are now out of Champions League contention and we may see another performance dip this week. Chelsea head to West Brom and Hazard could be a headache for the midlands club who have been inconsistent of late… it looks like Jose wants to end the season on the up so this could be a another week for the FPL top points scorer.
The Gameweek 37 Punt…
QPR were humiliated at Man City in GW36 and although their own Premier League destiny is already decided, they can have a say in that of some of the other teams and they take on a Newcastle side who are devoid of confidence or any kind of performance. Charlie Austin has plenty to play for as he will be wanting to end the season on a high and secure a big money move to another club.
