Grand National 2016 Tips

The Premier League has 4.7bn viewers worldwide which is bigger than any other league in the world. That is massive! But in terms of one single event, the Grand National 2016 is expected to attract a worldwide audience of 600 million viewers – again a massive event!

The Grand National is the showpiece horse racing event of the year and it returns this Saturday 9th April 2016 as 40 horses and jockeys prepare to take on over 4 miles of the most daunting track and fences on the chase circuit.

We have invited James at to give us his top tips for the Grand National 2016 now that the runner shave been confirmed.

James’ Top Tips For The Grand National

It has been a huge year for us at as we have given our members month on month profit. Whilst we focus on horseracing and football tips, we live for the big events as they are much easier to predict – that is with one big exception – The Grand National. This year will be no different but we can take plenty of pointers from past performance and the recent form.

The last big race meeting was Cheltenham and we helped our members make almost 20 points of profit during the festival – that could be £200 at £10 per point or a massive £2000 at £100 per point.

Whilst predicting the outcome of the race is as tough as ever, there are a few things you can do to help give you the best chance of success. The first is to open a number of betting accounts to take advantage of their special offers and use them to give you the best chance. Just be aware that many betting firms will be removing their offers on Saturday as they expect record numbers of punters to be signing up – you can alleviate this by signing up on Thursday or Friday. There is a list of the best offers at the bottom of this post.

The other thing that you should consider is the number of places that firms will pay out. For example, Ladbrokes are offering 5 places whereas Bet365 are also offering 5 – so it can pay to go with Bet365 and Ladbrokes for any each way bets.

Generally speaking, the earlier you place your bets, the better odds you will get for your money. The issue with this of course is that it brings with it a little bit of uncertainty over the ground and the feedback from the trainers and jockeys on the horses themselves. If you are betting on any of the horses in the top 5 of the betting, then you are almost always going to be better off placing your bet before Saturday morning.

Grand National Weather and The Going

As of today, the going for the Grand National course is soft. We are not expecting any more rain until Friday evening in to Saturday morning but that could of course change. At the moment, we are looking like the going will be soft or good to soft which gives us a good idea of the predictions we want to make. A little bit of rain the night before is usually a good thing and should keep the ground on the soft side of good.

Top 3 Tips For the Grand National 2016

All of these tips are each way shouts and we recommend taking advantage of Bet365’s 5 place offer. This is for new and current customers.

Each Way Bets:

Ballynagour 66/1 – This big price is way too much for this horse who looks set to go well and brings some good form in to this race. Get this horse each way with 5 places and you could be on to a big win.

Holywell 16/1 – In good form coming in to the race and looks very well handicapped. Many Clouds and Silviniaco Conti are the class acts in the race but if they fail then Holywell will have a great chance of a win.

Saint Are 25/1 – A horse that has finished second in this race on 2015 and has completed this course 4 times from 4 attempts. Jumps well and comes in to the race in good shape. A great each way chance.

Win Bet:

Many Clouds 8/1 – This price will not hold for long and expect Many Clouds to be going off at a price more like 6/1 by the time of the big race. Not really worth an each way bet but a small stake to win is worth covering your other bets with.

Top Grand National Betting Offers

The betting for the National is all about getting the best offers from the best firms at the best prices. To do this, you need to open your accounts on Thursday or Friday to take advantage of the free bet offers.

These are the firms we recommend:

Bet365 – Up to £200 free opening deposit and 5 places on all Grand National races
