Premier League Game Week 14 Predictions (Part Two)
This is part two of this article - for part one go to our Game Week 14 Tips here.
West Ham Vs. Arsenal
Both of these teams play in midweek and this promises to be a good fixture. Alexis Sanchez is probably the must have premium midfield player in the Premier League right now and until he picks up an injury or is rested then he has to be in your team. If anyone is still holding out for hopes of KDB setting the league alight (which he will no doubt do again soon) should switch allegiances to the North London premium asset as he is almost guaranteed to start whereas KDB is rotated in and out of the City side as Pep tries to manage the fitness of his star players for all competitions.
Sanchez is also proving that he can play up front and is holding of Olivier Giroud despite his goals from the bench (last week being the exception) and two goals against Bournemouth were enough to move his points tally to one behind Hazard. I would argue there is enough space for both of these in your team and if you can squeeze the Belgian and the Chilean in to your side then I think it has to be done.
West Ham are less likely to cope with the midweek fixture as Arsenal and the latter are far more likely to rotate – I expect Sanchez to be rested for the midweek cup game and if he is then he could be a very good captain shout for GW14.
Bournemouth Vs. Liverpool
A tough one for Liverpool this is as Bournemouth gave a pretty good account of themselves at the Emirates on Sunday apart from gifting a goal away. Eddie Howe’s side have been in better form at home this season and this will not be an easy game for Liverpool who have the added distraction of a cup game against Leeds in midweek.
The injury to Coutinho means he is going to miss this game and he could be out for 6 weeks having been pictured with a foot brace and as soon as the extent of the injury is confirmed you should be ready to chop the Brazilian from your team. Liverpool are struggling on the injury front this week with Lallana still no closer to fitness and Firmino also being a concern (although we expect him to be fit). With all of this in mind, we will be avoiding Liverpool this week and won’t be putting to much in to this fixture.
West Brom Vs. Watford
West Brom were held by Hull last week but not before last week’s must have player of the week (members article) Matty Phillips notched an assist with McAuley grabbing his third goal of the season! If you didn’t get Phillips in last week then here’s another chance as the Baggies look to continue their decent run against an inconsistent Watford side – this is sure to be a good physical encounter with both teams looking for the win.
Everton Vs. Man Utd
The pressure is on both of these sides to some extent but the pressure on Mourinho and Man Utd is as intense as it gets. A touchline ban for Jose Mourinho will add to the United headaches but I actually think that Everton are in a worse run at the moment. The Toffees have won only one game in the last eight and that includes fixtures against the likes of Burnley, Crystal Palace and Swansea and with no disrespect to those teams, this Everton team would have ripped them to shreds at the start of the season. Quite how Everton still sit 7th in the league is a mystery to me and I expect United to give a reaction and win this game – even with their midweek game against West Ham – in fact, I actually think that will help them to get some game time in.
Lukaku is another player who has gone off the boil and it looks like this week he will be dropped by plenty of frustrated owners whose patience has run thin. IT is hard to recommend any players in this game so it’s perhaps another to avoid.
We will be back later this week with our game week 14 captain, our must have player of the week and of course the podcast – be sure to have signed up to our membership to get full access to everything we have each and every week of the year.
