Game Week 31 – Top Captain Picks
Game Week 31 Captain Picks
No rest for the wicked as game week 31 is played over Tuesday and Wednesday, coming hot on the heels of game week 30. That leads to some interesting questions, for example to what extend top players will be affected by fatigue. This week like others has one specific tactical question come to mind when thinking of captain picks: What's more important - the match up or the player? That's difficult to answer and many good fantasy players have different opinions on it. We say there needs to be balance. Just because your player is up against Chelsea away doesn't mean he shouldn't enter the equation, and yet it needs to be taken into account.
With these big questions in mind, lets take a look at the potential captain picks for Game Week 31.
GW31 Captain Pick No. 3: Romelu Lukaku
Lukaku was not at his scintillating best against Liverpool, only taking 2 points on the back of 28 over his previous 2. That said we're keen not to overreact considering his amazing form all year. The main reason he's not made the top 2 is more about his tough match-up away to Manchester United than it is about his momentary dip in form. There are always going to be weeks when players like Lukaku do not score, especially as (recent weeks aside) they tend not to provide too many supplementary stats to add to their goal tally. That being said, the chance of Lukaku scoring is just so high on a week to week basis that he remains up there in our rankings.
GW31 Captain Pick No. 2: Alexis Sanchez
Alexis Sanchez remains the highest scoring overall fantasy player and although his form has been somewhat choppy of late he has scored 3 in his last four. He jumps way up our rankings this week because he's playing at home to West Ham which is just the type of fixture that Arsenal seem to take down with ease. We fancy that Sanchez should make light work of the Hammer's defence and will really fancy his chances to score at least one, and maybe more.
